My Grok Bots disappeared after switching plans. Are they gone?

Last checked October 28, 2026 · Grok Bot changes often

Short answer

Almost certainly not. During the October 2026 move to The X Subscription, some accounts were split so the plan landed on one account and the Bots on another. Sign out of Grok Bot everywhere, including grok.com, and sign back in using the same method you used when you created the Bots. Do not reset your Bot computer, delete anything or buy a second subscription while you sort it out.

What happened

This was one of the busiest threads on the official forum in late October 2026. Staff explained that the account-combine step during the switch to The X Subscription could leave your Bots on one account and your plan on another. One side then shows your plan with no Bots; the other shows your Bots with a prompt to subscribe.

Try this first

  1. Sign out of Grok Bot on every device, and sign out of grok.com in your browser.
  2. Sign back in with the same method you originally used — the same email, Apple, Google or X login.
  3. Check whether your Bots are back.

If they are still missing

Note which side you land on — "plan but no Bots" or "Bots but a subscribe prompt" — and contact support or reply on the official forum thread. Staff said reuniting the two needs a fix on their side.

What not to do

Staff were specific about this:

  • Do not reset your Bot computer. It can make recovery harder.
  • Do not delete Bots or routines.
  • Do not buy a second subscription to get access back. If you were charged twice, report it.

If your Bots are visible but will not respond, that is a different problem: see Grok Bot says "Can't reach your computer".
